We often get asked about the difference between UTVs and ATVs. While we offer UTVs and Roadsters as fun options to explore Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains, we do not rent ATVs. There are a few reasons why, as you will see below. Here’s a quick rundown of the difference between UTVs and ATVs.

UTVs: What they are, pros and cons

UTVs, or utility task vehicles, are larger than ATVs and have four side-by-side seats with seatbelts. They’re street legal and have features like windshields, roofs, mirrors, turn signals, and horn. They typically have a bed in the back for storing gear. UTVs are great for hauling people and gear around on trails. They’re also popular for hunting, camping, and fishing trips.

The biggest downside to UTVs is that they’re more expensive than ATVs. They’re also not as agile as ATVs, so they’re not as good for technical terrain. But if you’re looking for a comfortable ride with plenty of storage space, a UTV is probably the way to go.

Safety, comfort, reliability and side-by-side seating make UTVs perfect for exploring the Pigeon Forge area with family and friends.

ATVs: What they are, pros and cons

ATVs, or all-terrain vehicles, are smaller than UTVs and have only one seat. They’re not street legal (in most states) and don’t have features like windshields, roofs, or mirrors. However, they are very agile and can handle technical terrain well. ATVs are less expensive than UTVs and require less maintenance.

One downside to ATVs is that they can be more dangerous than UTVs because there’s only one seat and no seatbelts. If you hit a bump or make a sudden move, you could be ejected from the vehicle. Another downside is that they don’t have much storage space, so they’re not ideal for hauling people or gear around.

As you can see, UTVs and Roadsters really are the best way to enjoy a unique experience and make a great, safe memory while you’re in Pigeon Forge. If you have any additional questions about UTVs, or if you’re wondering which UTV is right for you, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
